Houston Women's Golf is preparing to embark on a new chapter under first-year head coach Rachel Pollock, and the road ahead promises to be one of the most demanding and exciting schedules in recent program history.
The Cougars unveiled their 2026-27 slate on Monday, featuring 10 regular-season tournaments that will take the program across five states, three time zones, and even into Mexico. For Pollock, the schedule is more than a collection of tournaments—it's an opportunity to test Houston against some of the nation's premier programs while continuing to elevate the standard of Cougar golf.
"I'm excited for this upcoming season," Pollock said. "We have an incredible schedule across the U.S. and Mexico that gives our ladies experience against some of the best fields in college golf. I cannot wait to showcase our team and their talents twice at home in the spring."
A Fall Built on Competition
Houston opens its campaign on September 7 at the prestigious ANNIKA Intercollegiate in Minnesota, immediately throwing the Cougars into one of college golf's most competitive fields. It's an early measuring stick for a roster eager to establish itself under new leadership.
The challenge only intensifies later in the month with a trip to Norman, Oklahoma, for the Schooner Fall Classic before Houston heads back to Texas for The Fin in Fairfield.
The fall schedule concludes in late October at The Clash at Boulder Creek in Nevada, giving the Cougars valuable experience on a variety of courses and conditions before the spring season arrives.
Home Turf Advantage
Following a winter trip to Guadalajara, Mexico, Houston returns home for perhaps the most important stretch of the season.
The Cougars will host two spring tournaments at the Golf Club of Houston, beginning with the Golf Club of Houston Invitational on February 8. Two weeks later, Houston welcomes one of the strongest fields of the year for the Chevron Collegiate, featuring national powers including Arizona, Arkansas, Baylor, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas Tech, and SMU.
For Pollock and her program, hosting elite competition in Humble represents another step forward in building Houston into a destination program.
Playing at home provides more than familiarity—it gives Cougar fans an opportunity to witness firsthand a program determined to make noise in the Big 12 and beyond.
The Road to Las Vegas and Beyond
March brings another pair of marquee events, beginning with the Lady Luck Invitational in Las Vegas before Houston travels to Maui for the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational.
The regular season concludes in Dallas in early April before the Cougars begin postseason play at the Big 12 Championship, which will be contested at Las Vegas Country Club for the first time. The stakes are clear: the conference champion earns an automatic berth into NCAA regional play.
For Houston, the path to the NCAA Championships runs through some of the nation's most iconic venues, with regional sites spanning Florida, Indiana, Texas, California, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
The ultimate destination awaits in Carlsbad, California, where the NCAA Championships will be held at Omni La Costa Resort from May 21-26.
