This Privacy Policy describes how Coogs 365 Sports collects, uses, shares, and protects your information. It applies to the website, subscription services, and related features.
1. Information We Collect
Account information. When you register, we receive your email address, display name, and profile image from Clerk, our authentication provider. You may optionally provide social handles (X, Instagram) through your profile page.
Payment information. If you subscribe to a paid tier, Stripe processes your payment details directly. We receive only a subscription status and a Stripe customer identifier — we do not store, and never see, your card number or CVC.
Usage data. We record which articles you read, how long you view them, and anonymized traffic sources so we can understand what coverage is working. This data is stored in our own database (Supabase) and in Vercel’s server logs.
Cookies and local storage. We use a small number of cookies and browser storage keys — strictly necessary ones for authentication and session state, and optional analytics cookies you can accept or decline via the cookie banner when you first visit.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Operate and improve the Service (deliver articles, maintain your account, process payments).
- Communicate transactional messages (account changes, billing receipts, subscription renewals).
- Understand aggregate reader behavior to improve editorial decisions.
- Detect fraud and abuse.
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers for cross-context behavioral advertising.
3. Service Providers
We share limited information with the following service providers, each of which is contractually bound to use the data only to provide services to us:
- Clerk — authentication and session management.
- Supabase — database and file storage.
- Stripe — subscription billing.
- Vercel — hosting and edge network.
- YouTube — embedded audio on the homepage LoFi widget (YouTube may set its own cookies when the widget is present; Google’s privacy policy applies).
4. Your Choices
Account. You can update or delete your account at any time from your profile page or by contacting us.
Marketing emails. We do not currently send marketing email. If we begin to, any marketing message will contain a one-click unsubscribe link.
Cookies. The cookie banner lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies. You can change your choice at any time by clearing our cookies in your browser.
5. Your Rights (US State Privacy Laws)
If you are a resident of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, or another state with a consumer-privacy statute, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and to opt out of certain data practices. To exercise those rights, email Coogs365@gmail.com. We will verify your request before fulfilling it and will respond within the statutory window.
6. Your Rights (EU / UK Visitors)
If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection under the GDPR / UK GDPR. Our legal bases for processing are contract performance (to provide the Service) and legitimate interest (to improve it). Contact Coogs365@gmail.com to exercise any right. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
7. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has provided us information, we will delete it.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted transport (HTTPS), row-level security on our database, and scoped service credentials. No system is perfectly secure, and we encourage you to use a strong, unique password.
9. Data Retention
We retain account information for as long as your account is active. Usage analytics are retained for up to 24 months in aggregate form. Billing records are retained for the period required by tax and accounting law. You may request deletion of your account and its associated personal information at any time, subject to legal retention requirements.
10. International Transfers
Our service providers may process data in the United States and other jurisdictions. Where required, we rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent transfer mechanisms.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll update the effective date above and, for material changes, notify you by email or in-product banner.
