The Cougars aren't the only ones grinding through fall camp right now. Across three states, 14 members of Houston's 2027 recruiting class are lacing up for their own version of two-a-days—except for them, it's the start of a last ride. One final high school season before they trade Friday night lights for Saturdays at TDECU Stadium.

Eight games in one night on the 28th alone — from the piney woods of Newton to the bayous of Baton Rouge — and this class will be putting on a show at every stop. A trench duo in Cook and Thiergood looking to set the tone up front. Two tone-setting safeties in Joseph and Bolden are roaming the back end. A quarterback in Baker who'll be asked to be the guy in Cy-Ranch's biggest early test. This is a class built with an identity, and Week 1 is the first chance to see it on tape.
